Gaynor came to Northern Baptist College following a long career in nursing. In the later part of her nursing life she worked for an ecumenical Christian organisation in Leeds as a Dementia Project Worker. This work involved working with churches and health care organisations looking at the spiritual needs of people with dementia, how those needs could be met. Part of the funding for that project came from ‘Community Learning Network’ and the college continues to support the work she is doing through learning initiatives with churches and various organisations.
Gaynor has written booklets on the subject, which can be accessed through her address. She has also been working with a core group of the Baptist Union of Great Britain in producing material for churches to use in the care of Vulnerable Adults. [Safe to Be.] She is a member of BU Council and Mission Executive.
She is passionate about her work as Regional Tutor for Yorkshire as she encourages people in their Christian learning. The most rewarding part of her work is seeing them develop their skills and confidence in discipleship.
Gaynor also works as part of the team in the Yorkshire Baptist Association as Mission Fieldworker working with churches as they explore ways of responding to mission in their communities, organising mission enabling events and helping to resource churches through organising training opportunities.
