The TiMM Course
Initially designed to meet the formal training requirements for lay pastor and preacher accreditation, the TiMM Course follows a syllabus established by the Baptist Union of Great Britain and Baptist Colleges. The Course is now widely recognised through the Midlands and the North of England as a way of encouraging and enabling mission and ministry. Primarily delivered in a local church and facilitated by a combination of NBC and other local tutors, the TiMM Course provides accessible learning for all ages and abilities. Individuals, churches and clusters gather together to share a learning experience, thinking about issues of life and faith. The course consists of a series of modules which cover many different areas of church life and Christian discipleship:
•leading worship and preaching •moral choices in today’s world •introduction to the Bible •understanding mission and culture •developing pastoral care in the local church •introduction to spirituality •Baptist history and beliefs •introduction to theology
Each module stands on its own and often a church or group will begin by studying an area of mutual interest or concern. Others are committed to completing the whole course and are working towards accreditation. Whatever your interest, the TiMM Course has something for you.
