Working with local churches

NBC employs five regional tutors in the five Associations of the North and Midlands.  Their task is to work with local churches to enable and facilitate learning and training for mission and ministry.

The TiMM Course

The modules of this course, while designed to meet the needs of lay preachers and lay pastors, have also been written so that any local church can make use of them for learning and training. If you need to train a pastoral care team, or want to learn more about the Bible, the one of these courses may be for you.

Informal Learning

There may be issues specific to your context that you want to focus on, questions that have got you buzzing which other training courses don’t touch.
In the past we have helped churches reflect upon:

    •being an inclusive church
•enabling church members to develop skills for leading worship
•offering support and pastoral care for those in bereavement
    working in cross-cultural mission
•theological questions that life’s tragedies cause us to wrestle with.

The result may be a one-off event, or a series of meetings. If you have any ideas, big or small, contact your Regional Tutor who will work with you to shape a relevant, flexible learning programme that will fulfil your needs and help you to develop your ministry and mission. We may appoint a Community Educator with specialist knowledge or experience to come alongside you and work with you as you learn.
